Real advice from guests who stayed here.

32

If you're a light sleeper, request an internal or rear-facing courtyard room away from the main street, such as rooms 5, 6, 16, or 17, which are consistently described as very quiet.

Rooms
18

Rooms facing the front/Borne or square offer lovely tree-lined city views and people-watching, especially Room 1 and Room 11, but expect some street noise if you like windows open.

Rooms
11

Junior suites are highly praised for being very spacious, quiet, and comfortable, often with features like large double-glazed windows, private patios or terraces, and stylish bathrooms.

Rooms
7

Higher floors and deluxe/suite categories (e.g., Deluxe Room 10, suites on upper floors) give you more space and a calmer feel, and many guests feel the upgrade is worth paying for.

Rooms
6

Many guests say all rooms are excellent and well soundproofed, so you generally can’t go wrong with any room choice here.

Rooms
6

Room 1 (a large junior suite) is repeatedly recommended for its space, comfort, and beautiful street views.

Rooms
5

Ask for a room with a city or square view, ideally with balcony or floor-to-ceiling windows, to really enjoy the hotel’s historic surroundings and cathedral vistas.

Rooms
4

The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful, so don’t hesitate to ask them for advice or assistance with anything you need during your stay.

Service
4

Standard rooms here are larger than expected and very comfortable, so you don’t necessarily need a top category to have plenty of space.

Rooms
3

Book Can Alomar well in advance, as it’s a small hotel with only 16 rooms and fills up quickly.

Booking
3

The hotel’s location on Passeig del Born puts you within easy walking distance of Palma’s main historical sites, cathedral, Parc de la Mar waterfront, and best shopping areas.

Location
3

If you’re noise-sensitive, avoid rooms directly overlooking the main road, Born, or above the restaurant, as weekend nightlife and traffic can be lively despite good double glazing.

Rooms
2

If you plan to use the hotel’s designated parking, rent a small car because the access street and garage entrance are very narrow, and consider locating the parking in advance as it’s close by.

Transport
2

Make time to relax on the hotel’s roof terrace and dinner terrace, which are standout spaces for enjoying the atmosphere.

Activities
2

Try the on-site restaurant and consider pre-paying for breakfast, as many guests find the food here worth planning around.

Dining
2

Email the hotel in advance if you need help planning your stay; they respond quickly and can assist with arrangements like restaurant bookings or local tips.

Service
2

Towels are provided in the room, and the beds are noted as extremely comfortable, so you can pack light and expect a very good night’s sleep.

Rooms
1

If you like having hot drinks in your room, request tea-making facilities when you arrive.

Rooms
1

There is no on-site gym, but you can request a yoga or exercise mat from the staff for in-room workouts.

Rooms
1

Plan ahead to reserve popular restaurants and be aware that taxis for the return journey to the hotel can sometimes be scarce late in the evening.

About Can Alomar Hotel

You walk straight off Palma’s elegant Passeig del Born and into Can Alomar, a 19th-century palacio turned 5-star hotel with high ceilings, polished wood floors and quiet, grown-up glamour. With only a handful of rooms and suites, it feels more like a stylish private residence than a city hotel. Head up to the rooftop and you find the plunge pool and solarium tucked among stone chimneys, with views stretching towards the cathedral and the bay.

Location is prime: you’re in the centre of Palma, about a 5-minute walk from La Seu Cathedral and the Almudaina Palace, 500 metres from the seafront promenade and roughly 1 km from the nearest beach. Continental and buffet breakfast are served, and the in-house restaurant, De Tokio a Lima, is well known in Palma for its Japanese-Peruvian-Mediterranean fusion and terrace tables overlooking the boulevard. There’s a small rooftop relaxation zone with hot tub plunge pool, sun loungers, and a menu of spa treatments, plus yoga, pilates and fitness classes on request. Expect strong Wi‑Fi, soundproofed rooms, king-size beds, and thoughtful extras like hair straighteners and bathrobes.

Can Alomar works best for couples or friends who want a stylish, adults-focused base right in the middle of Palma’s shopping and dining streets. Children must be 14 or over, and there’s no large resort-style pool, so it’s not for families chasing waterslides. Book it for a city break where you can walk everywhere, then retreat to a rooftop dip and dinner on one of Palma’s prettiest terraces.
