Real advice from guests who stayed here.
The hotel has a fabulous, very central but quiet location on a historic side street, making it an excellent base for sightseeing around Palma and a roughly 15‑minute walk from the main bus station for trips to places like Alcudia.
Book directly with the hotel and well in advance to get a better rate.
There’s a public car park about 5 minutes away and the hotel offers valet parking for a small fee.
Taxis from the airport or port may not be able to stop directly outside because the entrance is on a historic side street, but they can easily drop you about 20 yards away.
Use the hotel as a base to explore Palma on foot and consider a day trip on the historic Soller train.
Cocktails at the hotel bar are good, and you can also enjoy breakfast on the outside terrace overlooking the tree canopy on Passeig des Born.
Visit the cathedral area after dark when it’s quieter and beautifully floodlit.
Early fall is a particularly pleasant time to visit Mallorca.
Over Easter there are multi‑night parades that close roads near the hotel, so plan your movements and airport transfers accordingly.
You may want to try having breakfast at cafés away from the hotel for variety.
You walk straight out onto Passeig des Born, Palma’s elegant, tree-lined boulevard, and Nivia Born feels like it’s part of the street’s theatre. A small, design-led 5-star hotel, it mixes clean, contemporary lines with nostalgic touches, soft lighting and polished parquet floors. The rooftop terrace, with its city views and plunge spa bath, is where the vibe shifts from chic city base to private urban hideout.
Location is the trump card: you’re a 6-minute stroll from La Seu Cathedral, about 1 km from Palma Yacht Club and 1.8 km from the port, with Playa Ca’n Pere Antoni roughly a 16-minute walk away. The hotel has just a compact set of rooms and suites, all soundproofed, with hardwood floors, robes, minibars and laptop safes. Expect a strong F&B setup for a small property: a romantic restaurant and bar serving brunch through to cocktails, plus continental, vegetarian and vegan breakfasts and a coffee house on site. Extras like valet parking, airport shuttle, in-room breakfast, full-body massages and a small business centre make it feel grown-up and practical.
Nivia Born works best for couples and solo travelers who want to step outside and be immediately in the old town, galleries, shops and tapas bars. Families are welcomed too, with babysitting and even strollers available, but there’s no pool and the scene is more boutique than resort. Book if you want Palma’s historic centre as your living room and a stylish, service-focused bolthole to come back to.
